R400 a day plus all she can eat. She works every 2nd Friday.

R5,500 a month basic for 5 days a week 9-4, with extra R250 is she works a holiday. We also charge R100 cleaning for our Airbnb which we give directly to her.

R1600 for 4 Saturdays of about 4 hours each. I pick her up and drop her off, so transport isn't an issue for her.

I'm paying my gardener R300 a day plus a decent lunch, KFC or something.
Looks like I'm underpaying given the above so far

3300 a month for twice a week through a cleaning service. They deal with all the "red tape" she also does an absolutely awesome job! Couldnt be happier with the service they/she provides. Wife and I work from home so we dont have time to clean. I am aware that its a luxury and its one I am happy to pay.

Also important for net pay is transport cost. Works out to nearly 15% of gross in our case. Pretty crazy.

If Metrorail worked she could get an instant ~10% raise.

A lot of people will say it’s worth paying someone to clean your house because your time is valuable.

Your money is also valuable, so keep your time and money and just tolerate a dirty house.

A team of 3 once a week for 3 hours @ R550 per shot. They have their own transport and cleaning equipment.

Been moving away from domestic help for years, and ended it this year.

R300 p/d with a minimum of 18 days per month depending when we have guests checking in/out
