Per day? Per week? Per month?

Do you give them a bonus? Any freebies?

Where do you live (since area affects salary)?

What happens if you go away and do not require the services of your domestic worker - do you still pay him/her?

Myself - I live in Sandton. My domestic worker comes once per week, and I pay her R1000 per month, even if I am away on leave and I do not require her services. I give her a loaf of bread every day that she comes (I don't eat bread so it is easier for me to remember to buy a full loaf every week).

I give her 13th cheque in December and try to remember to raise her salary every now and then.

Ballito, my Domestic only comes once a week, R150 a day, with a extra R100 added when she gets paid at the end of the month.
Give her a 13th check but no freebies

Pay my domestic 1600 a month for working 4 days. Paid even when I am on leave. Normally buy her 2 loaves of bread and hot cross buns every week. Give her about 500 as a xmas bonus

Working 4 days per week or 4 days per month?

R800 per month - Once a week comes in at 9ish and leaves about 2ish. 13th cheque, lunch is provided. She helps herself to stuff that's available when she leaves, like fruits, bread etc. I give her my older appliances fridges phones etc.

Capetown. She works 5 days a week. I pay her R3600 a month and she lives on the property for free. Its a small room with no bathroom (It has a basin and she has to use the one in the house) but its much better than the shack she had in the township. she gets free electricity and hot water and so on.

Edit: Forgot. She gets standard leave, paid public holidays and a bonus in December.

I live in Randburg, she comes once a week, and she can help herself to lunch and brekkie. I pay her R1300 per month. I use SweepSouth (R250) when I want the place cleaned properly (She is almost 60 and is counting the hours until she can retire and go on government pension, so her motivation to clean is almost non existant)
