I always tip, if i don't want to tip I'll go get the food myself or cook. The delivery people really get paid peanuts I'm sure R10 to them means alot more than it does to you. If you can't tip don't use the services

Why would you tip a petrol attendant? He's paid to be there, a waiter on the other hand is more then likely living off of commission and tips. The "basic" salary that's supposed to be paid to waiters still doesn't get paid to them as most restaurants find loopholes.
Back on OT I wouldn't tip them, if the delivery is offered by the place I'm ordering from and it was free then yes, but those two charge me quite a lot for the luxury of delivering my food.
Do petrol attendants not earn a lot less than waiters?

I tip both.
Waiters get 10+% of my bill depending on service.
Petrol attendants R0-10 depending on service and sometimes even more.
They are at least working and putting in some effort so if I am in a position to help them in a small way, why not?

Waiters normally earn nothing, most restaurants don't pay their staff basic salaries and they rely on tips only. Yes there's supposed to be some law that they are supposed to be paid and blah blah. But the restaurants have gypoed it to be commision and other such nonsense.

Uber and MR D charge for the delivery and then they charge the restaurant like 30% commission on the order. They make more than enough to pay these guys a decent wage.
Tipping is passing the cost of staff on to the consumer and then the companies the people work for stick the money in their pockets.
Same with petrol stations, the people i know that own petrol stations are coining it, they can afford to pay the guys a decent wage. So they should not let their staff rely on tips.
I agree, I've worked in restaurants and pizza delivery, both of which SURVIVE off the tips. Its a disgusting system and should never be encouraged. As soon as an institution start to do it, their wages systematically drop to zero. The reason they get away with it is because people tip, so laborours will work for the tips, which then further perpetuates the ability for the institution to not pay for the labour. If people didn't tip, then they would have no choice but to pay for the labour. Also, suggesting that you get better service in a tipping system is rubbish. If you get bad service, its usually for factors beyond the control of the delivery agent, they don't deserve to be punished, and if its really their fault you can complain and get them fired. There's no reason to regulate their service using money. I mean what the hell do you want them to do other than deliver your food? The only exception is when the system has unfortunately already been established, as is the case for waiters and pizza delivery. Don't allow new systems like this to be created. In short, if there's a service fee, then they should be getting paid, DON'T TIP.

Nope, I only use the service if I get a voucher or discount. Tipping them would add to the cost of the meal. I tip other services though, when I have extra money.

I always tip Mr. D on the app.

When at a restaurant, I will pay roughly 10%, for example, if the bill is R605, I won't tip R60.50, rather, I pay a full amount of R680 or sometimes R700 if I feel the person deserves it.

As a rule though, I don't go below 10%.

I was a waiter myself when much younger so maybe that's why.

I don't tip on MrD or Uber via the App.. I will not pay a tip upfront.

If the food arrives promptly and all that the driver will possibly get a R10 tip or something like that if I have cash on me.

I always tip on MrD (on the occasion we do use them). The driver needs that R20 bucks more than I do.
Why should I punish the driver if it's the restaurant taking long to prep my order.

I've never seen a Mr D driver take roundabout drives or take forever to get to my place after collecting the food. It's in their best interest to get the food delivered as quickly as possible.
