Okay you want to play smoothly on medium settings, and you have no components to start off with? In that case R3-5k is very unrealistic.

7850 - r1800
8gb ram - r1099
1tb drive - r839

Do you start to get the picture? You'll need at least 10k for a fully equipped medium-level gaming PC.

7K for a basic with out monitor
14k for a good rig with monitor
then for fancy multi-gpu rigs just start adding the $$$.

I really want to add a SSD to my pc but i know i need to upgrade mb and cpu first before i can really enjoy the speed of a SSD

How long is a piece of string??

Realistically, you won't need really top-end hardware anymore since no games exist to take advantage of it. What used to be called mid-range is now more than enough to play new games on max settings. I'd say around 8-10 grand excluding mouse, keyboard and display should get you something decent. For example, buying cheapish (but not complete crap) hardware:

Motherboard: 2k
CPU: 2K
PSU: 1k
Graphics card: 2k
HDD: 1k
RAM: 1k

Maybe you should have a look at some classified forums (not sure if we are allowed to post links to other forums) and look at buying second hand. There are some very good deals out there if you are willing to pick and choose. If you know a lot about PC's you can do it yourself, otherwise ask somebody knowledgeable to help out.

It's not a problem to direct forumites to other places. www.carbonite.co.za is a good starting point.

You can't really upgrade that system though.
Probably best you'd get a bit more ram and a bigger GPU.
But you won't really be happy.

I upgraded my son's dual core a while back and even after the upgrade it didn't really improve the gaming performance too much.
You'd be able to spend a fair bit on a GPU but your system would bottleneck it severly.
Best get a cheap i5 or decent i3 and then work from there.
But you'll need new ram, new mobo and a GPU.

Think I should just sell it. They offering a nice Asus mobo for R900 pci express 3.0 no CPU and a 2gb graphics card that goes with it for R1300
