How much does a Telkom line installation cost?

R690 installation fee, however, if you opt to sign up for a Telkom calling plan, the installation fee is waived.

How much is a calling plan?

I really just want a VDSL line in the new place since the fiber installation is going to take a month or two.
 
Yes that's correct. They will only waive the installation fee if you opt for one of the 'calling plans.'
So the minimum you'll pay Telkom is R144 (2Mbps Adsl line rental) + R180 (Weekender calling plan) = R324 p/m (excl vat)

I take it Telkom will not stop asking the R186 for the line rental and likely increase that to make their fiber more appealing?

I still do not understand how on earth they are getting away with double charging people.

It's R186 for the line with R690 installation fee
Or R206 for their cheapest package and no installation fee.

You can cancel the package after 3 months, so you can save R630.

Okey so 206 + 550(vdsl) + isp data for 3 months

The cancel the 186 + 550 + isp data.


How easy is the cancel process?
