Well, that depends on what you take.

On a 24 month contract you can get the modem included.

Per month you pay extra:
Play Intro (R50 | R30)
Play Novice (R104 | R84)
Play Classic (R70 | R50)
Play Extreme (R50 | R30)
Play Addict (R50 | R30)
Pro Intro (R60 | R40)
Pro Novice (R70 | R50)
Pro Classic (R100 | R80)
Pro Extreme (R130 | R110)
Pro Addict (R130 | R110)

That translates to the following:
Play Intro (R1200 | R720)
Play Novice (R2496 | R2016)
Play Classic (R1680 | R1200)
Play Extreme (R1200 | R720)
Play Addict (R1200 | R720)
Pro Intro (R1440 | R960)
Pro Novice (R1680 | R1200)
Pro Classic (R2400 | R1920)
Pro Extreme (R3120 | R2640)
Pro Addict (R3120 | R2640)

(Desktop | Laptop/USB)

So an Desktop modem costs anything from R1200 to R3120. WTF?

Is it legal to discriminate against people that choose different packages? Should a modem not have a fixed cost no matter what package you choose?

Anyway, I just found it really amusing.

I'm sure its legal to do whatever you want with your products pricing, but it can still be stupid.

I guess they have to make it a lot cheaper for the low bandwidth products otherwise they wouldn't be competitive.

You'd think the rest of the prices should be the same. Paying more on a more expensive acount doesn't seem right.

Oh so the high bandwidth users are subsidising the low bandwidth users. Interesting. The only possible complaint that say Pro Addict's could complain about is if the financing cost of just over 36.5% is over the Usury Act maximum rate. But I don't know what that rate is.
