I was very surprised, after my new Nexus 7 went through setup, its first charge and update to 4.2.2, that it knew about all my wifi connections (including passwords).

Anyone want to share what information they have found that Google has collected?

That seems unlikely

There's an optional setting when you first sign in to remember your phone setup etc (back up to the cloud) and then also to optionally automatically restore it on a new device.

That could explain it, although I've never seen this in action.

Yeah I'm still not exactly sure how it's meant to work but it probably works more reliably on nexus devices but what the OP described is pretty much it. Might also try reinstall all your apps depending on who knows what.

Google knows every device i own. It knows all my friends (and most people i've ever been in contact with) and all their contact numbers and all their friends and all their contact numbers. It knows where i am at any time of the day. It knows what weather i'm experiencing and it probably knows my opinion on anything i've typed on my PC, laptop, tablet or phone. Last time i looked it had filled in my entire life on "timeline" on facebook. One day when my memory fades i'll google my name and it'll all be presented to me. Scary
