How much is a call on the Vodacom network?

We are both on Vodacom pre-paid and my wife tried to call me (missed call) and Vodacom say she had reached her call limit and she had R3.84 on her phone.

How much does a call cost these days with Vodacom if R3.84 wont allow her to connect?

With prepaid...the system keeps a little reserve. If you are trying to make a call and you are in this "reserve" amount...then the call wont be allowed. You can still use it for SMS though.

thanks Ockie, can you still use R3.84 to connect to the internet on the phone?
 
nope she could not even make a call. She had to put in R5 to make the call. I don't know what call plan she or I are on and will look at hers tonight as I never use my phone.
 
If she switches to the all day per second rate of R1.70 (dial 1181) then she should be able to make a call. I've called with 50c remaining on this rate.
 
ok cool I will look at that when she gets home. She only miss calls me these days cause IM apps do not want to work anymore.
 
she didn't listen attentively,the automated lady voice actually said'your call limit wil be reached soon,pls load airtime'
 
Also, Iive come to find out that if you have a data connection in the background (eg whatsapp), then if you have less than (?)R5 it will not allow you to make a call. If I end the data connection and make a call it will go through. Got this confirmed through Vodacom Customer Care
