IS estimates that the actual cost for internet access - including the extra bit of hardware that enables a copper line for broadband, but excluding maintenance costs - comes to R38,96 a month, amortised over five years. "Also," says Rehmet, "the copper costs are covered in the phone line rental. There is no rational justification for Telkom to recover this twice; it should not have that right."

Where did u get this info?

Well, it's like this.

According to telkom, we are all idiots, since we don't work there, and we don't know their infrastructure, thus they can ask whatever price they, and even double / tripple charge for the same thing - who'll know? Besides, it's supply on demand, you need it, they have it, you have to pay their price
