Family member has just bought a new Mini Cooper S JCW pack F66. He wants it wrapped in a clear wrap and the first guy he went to quoted R50k 😱 Second place quoted R10k?? Both verbal quotes so he might be comparing apples to pears.

All he know is that he wants a full wrap and they must use PPE (think that's what he said).

Any advice guys? Randburg, Sandton, Edenvale.

Like I said in that disaster of a thread this stuff makes no sense on any level compared to what paint repair costs.

Doing the bonnet and front bits I get, but the whole car just seems like a waste of money and problems waiting to happen.

Spending 1 bar on a car and then trusting some place to wrap it in vinyl is crazy. Suppose there's reputable places but I'm also not really sure what the point is on a new car. Is it to protect the paint job?

Besides that, when the PPF get's scratched or damaged it will look **** anyway and cost you R1000's to replace. Rather claim on your insurance for a proper body shop to repair.

PPF - unless he wants to protect the car from Covid.

Yes, supposedly to protect it from the acid in bird poo and scratches when other cars open their doors and bump it.

Stay away from a 10k wrap. Most definately not a 5yr vinyl, will crack, delaminate and leave glue. yes, a proper rap is north of R25k at least. Do what you want, ignore people who impose their opinions, as long as its done properly.

Give Wraps By Rooster a call. Well known in the car community.
