Hi

How much will a !92kb connection and 10gig cap through SAOL cost me with the new per gig billing.

In terms of ISP costs, a basic 10 gig shaped account will cost you R349.00 / month with Saol.com, once you reach your cap, you can recharge online using your credit card @ R69.00 / gig.

R349 for 10 gigs? I have to ask - was that a typo or mistake? Currently we're paying very little for 30 gig accounts, but from 1 Nov, R349 for 10 gigs sounds too cheap, given the price per gig.

No typo or mistake, we're simply doing what we always profess to ... offer the best value ADSL in the country.

We have some even better offers in the pipeline - watch this space.

Taking telkom's new pricing into account, that is DAMN good value for money..
3 gigs is way too little for me, but I can comfortably survive on 10 gigs..

Thanks

How fast must a connection be and how big a CAP size to stream video over Adsl. Stream must run during weekdays all day. Is it possibile.

So is this right.

192kps: R270
10gig CAP: R349
= R619 per month

So whats the catch? I'm guessing you're not using SAIX as your cost would be 10 x R54 = R540 and I dont believe you would be selling way under cost.

Is your service via satellite for international (e.g. IS ) or is it a local account with some kind of international proxy service bundled?

Our ADSL service is currently SAIX based and the prices I have quoted above are for SAIX ADSL accounts - I'm not going to go into how we manage to do it below cost.

We are however implementing IP Connect (which basically means we can offer ADSL via our own network). The network will still be SAIX based as we use SAIX as our upstream provider so no problems with latency there - I'll give more information as soon as it becomes available - we will also be reselling ADSL accounts via the IP Connect, so if there are any other ISP's who are interested in competitive ADSL rates, send me a PM.
