Not only hiv but other stds?
If you have a regular SO...do Y'all share reports?
Oh and medical people...how often is too much?
I am hungry....I like pizza

I test myself once a year just for the sake of safety, but it's more of a waste of time. I've never had sex with someone I didn't trust fully.

I came here thinking it was a thread about anger management.

Why the need for regular testing in a steady relationship?

My wife tests me every day

Have you fed the dogs?
Have you emptied the bin?
Has the pool been leaking again?
Is what you are wearing co-ordinated? (Very important for women)
Have you made the shopping list?
Have you filled the car prior to the petrol price increase?
How long will you be out this morning?
Did you remember its so and so's birthday this week?
Have you had an email from our daughter?
Have you paid the doctor/dentist's bill?

See, nothing is left to chance here

I ask them to throw in a HIV test when I get an unrelated bloodtest done. I need to get bloodwork done anyway every 3 months so its more than enough.

Its not like the doc is going to say no & once its got a docs signature on it pathology labs & med aid cooperate too. Plus they don't need to punch another hole in you...they just draw an extra vial of blood.

HIV doesn't jump from your partner to you immediately, so its no good having sex (a la JZ style) then going straight for your blood test.

While true, it should be added that if you fear you've been infected then do not wait. Standard testing won't pick it up immediately, but there are tests that can pick it up earlier. Plus the doc might decide to go straight for prophylactic treatment depending on circumstances and there time is critical.

HPV is a big danger, especially to women. It can even get transmitted with condom use according to new research.
