I want to know how often you replace your toothbrush. I noticed my new Oral B has only lasted around 6 months, when I rinse my mouth out with water afterward I notice fine plastic stuff, which must be the bristles. This has been going on for a few weeks now. I can't see anything missing on the toothbrush but something isn't right. This morning I opened a new Oral B and my mouth was clean when I rinsed, with no funny bits.

6 months how?
Do you only brush once a week?

I replace about every two months, I was told by a dentist I had a few dates with as soon as the bristles start moving outwards its time.

Wow, before this replacement I think I swopped out toothbrushes once a year or 2 years. Honestly cant remember. But I am pretty sure up to 2yrs on a brush. I am very gentle, I dont want to be brutal on the enamel

I will take a photo of my used one when I get home and post pic next to the new one, looks identical to the naked eye

Your teeth don't look too bad.

there's no specific timeframe, it is event driven:
- are the bristles completely f-ed?
- did you accidentally drop it in the toilet when hungover / still drunk early in the morning?
- did the kid use it to clean stuff around the house?
- did the wife mistake it for hers and use it?
- did the dog use it as a chew toy?

if so, then, replace
else
carry on

I am lost to how often one needs to replace a toothbrush. I will jot it down to replace this cheapy Oral B in 3 months time. About R60 each
