How often should one check your car's tyre pressure?

And how often do you check that your tyre pressures are correct?

I checked mine this morning and 3 out of the 4 tyres were slightly under-inflated. It's the first time I checked in about 10 weeks. I feel like a nut because I have 17inch low profile tyres and I could have decreased the lifespan of my tyres by quite a bit.

Lol, I think the manuals say check every fill up, or 2 weeks. I don't check often because I only fill up every second week, and I have my own gauge I use because the stations are all different readings.

Still worth checking, the BMW system for example only tells you when it detects a 20-30% drop in pressure or something like that (going from memory here).

You could still be driving with under inflated tyres without triggering that warning. With increased fuel consumption, increased tyre wear and slightly more sluggish handling even if your life isn't in any real danger.

Every single time I drive it. Have a Tyre Pressure Monitoring system that shows me each tyre's pressure and temperature in real time.

I check whenever I fill up, when the tyres are cold. The difference between cold and hot pressure can be quite a lot.
I also use my own monitor, as at least I then know it's consistent.

Of course it will vary between everyone's home pressure gauge as well. The trick is to always measure with the same device at the same time of day, whether it is the service station, tyre place or home gauge.

I do it about once a month and obviously before long trips.

On the bike it tells me exactly what the pressure is, so no need to worry about it.

Yep me to , my front tires are 2.5 in the front if they go down to 2.45 the thing gets the alert going and certainly lets me know, Merc .

Problem i do have is most garages do not have accurate pumps and are all over the place so it takes a couple of visits to get the tire pressure right after an alert ..
