How should I go about finding an internship as a computer science student?

Im currently 2nd year computer science, im getting majors in Mathematics and Applied statistics as well.
I wanted to know how I should go about looking for an internship, i heard it helps alot when looking for jobs and also I would like some experience.

Whenever I look for internships though, its always a year long or I need to have certain experience. Im just looking for something I can do this december holiday hopefully.

If you’re up for the challenge, try apply for internships at international companies (Google, FB, Amazon, Netflix, Apple, Goldman Sachs, etc.). That would be the ultimate in setting yourself up.

To get an edge in this, ask your lecturers or postgrad students to put you in contact with postgrads working in these companies. I personally, helped many SAffers get internships and jobs overseas when I worked in tech. Internships ranged from 6 weeks to 6 months.
