How strict are airlines with checked baggage?

Sorry for the bump, but I need to fly on Mango tomorrow morning and I want to take my Xbox with me.

I always have my laptop as carry on in it's bag but can I also take my Xbox in a bag as carry on as well?

In 2011 I was able to take my laptop bag and a 23" LCD monitor still in the box as carry on.

Lappy bag and xbox should be no problem. Is it in its box? If so, maybe put your xbox in the overhead and your laptop bag under the seat in front of you. Easy.

Don't check it in no matter what they tell you. All baggage is screened at big airports which means that an informed baggage handler would know what was inside. Also, refuse to hand valuables in at the aircraft before entering. Limited Release bags indemnify the airline in the event that if disappears.

Enjoy.

Yea thanks bromster it's still in its original box and the dimensions are fine. I'm just worried they won't let me take it on the plane because I won't have anyone to take it back with them at the airport.

The only thing I ever put in my checked luggage is clothes and my toothpaste!

Edit : Title fail, it should be cabin baggage not checked baggage.

I travel frequently but only ever with a backpack. Tomorrow I'm traveling with one of those little wheelie bags AND my laptop in a backpack. The tickets states only one bag is allowed on board. Do you think they'd be so strict to make me only take the laptop backpack on the plane and have to check-in the little wheelie bag?

Shouldn't be a problem at all.

I've travelled with a backpack, laptop bag and guitar all in one go before without being questioned.
