Here's my story...
We were recently advised that the Ballito area on the KZN North Coast was ADSL enabled, being a service provider spending R45000 per month with Telkom on data lines I decided to try the service first hand in order to pass my experiences on to my clients.
I applied online at Telkom's site and all went well, two days later a Techie phoned from Durban saying that he was on his way to test the quality of my line, which he duly did. Today I get a call from another Telkom employee saying that the line quality was sub-spec and that my order had been cancelled. On questioning her I was told that there was nothing that they could do as the Techies had done all the tests possible, other than replacing the copper!!
To crown it all I only live 250m from the exchange, imagine those poor guys who live 5km's away.....
Just another brilliant example of how the socialist monoply sucks.
I wish I could take all my business elsewhere.
