How to attach external antenna to laptop?

Hi guys!

How would I attach a yagi antenna to my laptop so I can do a signal test at my friends house?

Shot!
 
Ja ja but I just need pigtail to test signal not to run network!
 
Hi Headstrong

Firstly if you have a pcmcia card in your laptop you can buy a mmcx-N(M) pigtail and a 12 dbi yagi antennae which is perfect for site surveys as the yagi has about a 45 degree spread.

Otherwise you can buy a SUB362EXT made by Senao which are really awesome too,they have excellent receiver sensitivity and then buy the necessary pigtail to attach it to the yagi.On average prism based cards would be better for site surveys as they have no QOS so it will establish a connection even though it shouldnt.

I went to miro on friday and I had a look at the pigtail and I dnt trust that minute connector! I think I need a PCMCIA card instead!
