How to bottle chillies?

Sticky this thread?

Am now hugely craving chilli. My lunch is going to seem so bland........

To preserve chillis simply put in a jar of salt water and seal. Last for ages and maintain their flavour.

I make a devil chilli paste with olive oil, garlic, either a bit of sugar or I put in sultanas. I then blend to a fine paste and put in a jar. I just cover the conconction with a layer of olive oil to prevent exposure to the atmposphere. Cant stand cooked chillis so only eat raw.

This thread FTW! :D

I've got 10 plants growing in my backyard. Mostly american variations. For some reason the local chillies are struggling a bit.

Ie: Chilli Pesto :D We bought some lovely premade jars on our honeymoon. It basically contained all the spices required and all you had to do was add olive oil when you needed it. I wonder if somebody sells something like that in SA?

@Mila, Never heard of O'Crumbs

Yes me mother does this:

Simply put the green whole chilies in a jar of vinegar, she also adds carrot sticks and leave. tasty and also abit crunchy

Only people with unsophisticated palates need to blast and overdose theirs with something like chilli.

I half agree. I love chilli, but also love my food. If I want my chicken to taste like Chilli... I'll just rather eat the chilli, But small amounts can make a dish go from boring and bland, too exciting and divine

Cool......which ones did you take, i'm not interested in the worlds hottest chilli i just want eatable ones, and with that in mind i can eat rather hot stuff.
