How to call values from another workbook

Hi,

I hope someone can assist me.

I want to create a spreadsheet for food costing.
I already have stock sheets with unit prices in excel spreadsheets.

What I want it to create a sheet whereby I can select an ingredient (from a drop down list maybe), and enter a quantity in the given unit, then excel will "call" the relevant price from my stock sheet and calculate the price for me.

I'm sure there's a way to do this but I'm not exactly sure how.

Please could you assist with the basics.
