Hi

I have just got of a 60 min call to 10210, trying to cancel my Telkom Internet ADSL. I am planning to move to a different ISP. Problem is, after 60 minutes and waiting in 3 queues, I still have not canceled it.

Can anybody help with a direct number to do this, or maybe a fax number or email address I can fax / mail a written notice too?

Do you want to cancel your ADSL (read: the line) or do you want to cancel your data subscription with TelkomInternet the ISP?

If the latter, then calling 10210 to cancel would be the way to go about it, I believe.

You have to call, I called on a Sunday afternoon and waited 45 minutes, if you go to a Telkom shop, they will only redirect you to a phone standing in the shop to call from.

2 things about canceling:
there is a 30 day notice period after canceling your Telkom internet.
you don't have to cancel your telkom line, only your internet.

When switching to a new ISP, a lot of people suggest that you keep your line with Telkom, I am not sure exactly what all the reasons are, but there is...

So when canceling your Telkom internet, only cancel your Internet and keep your line.

There is no 30 day cancellation period if you insist nicely enough. I had mine cancelled while I was on the phone. Just be nice because if you try to be hardegat they will also be hardegat.
