How to cancel your Vodacom contract...

This should work with MTN also, right?

They're even more notorious for being impossible when it comes to cancelling subscriptions ...

This is exactly, to the letter, what I had to do a few short weeks ago. I thought I had cancelled my contact end of December, but it was not processed by the consultant.

The Vodacom from the Yebo Gogo days are no longer the same...
Them & mweb used to be darlings back in the day - cool adverts & product deals. Then they evolved into a faceless, humorless cooperate entity completely disconnected from their clients.

So this is the reason I hate VODAKAK.

Except they will not do this in store. They cannot even assist with billing enquiries in store. But they can sell you everything.

After you managed to get your contract cancelled, the next important crucial step is to swear at them profusely and give them a 0 rating on the phone. If they still have that.

Flip man. Cancelled with MTN last year after jumping through hoops and was hoping Vodacom would be better.

No one with any brains works for Vodafcuk.

After 3 months I lost my sh¡t and drove to Voda world, the Epicentre if incompetence.
Using violence and threats and by refusing to leave until it was resolved, I managed, after 3 hours, to get it Cancelled.

I wouldnt go with Vodafcuk again if they gave me a free phone and a free unlimited contract.

Another option you can try in store is ask them to convert the number into a 4U month to month contract. There is no monthly fee on this contract. Only pay if there is usage (expensive if you do use it). It is available on my system as a migration...not sure if it is on the C3D system which the stores use.

Reading how hard it is to cancel, I am glad Vodacom and MTN declined my contract years ago.

Odd

0821958 did the trick with my data contract last year. Contract killed, was billed double, but it all corrected itself. Agent was just sure that he could offer me a better deal, but simply could not offer me what was already on the website. Also did not know his own products, kinda sad. Suggested an upgrade to a SIM only data contact that would not work in my existing router.

Did this with 2 x contracts, migrating it to a cheap R50 month-to-month contract in the interim in case some good black friday deals surfaced, and finally cancelled it last month, as this black friday was a dud. No issues.

0821958 FTW. Sure, I noted down the names and everything, waited for the SMS and wouldve called again if I did not get it. But no need to go all out '20 STEPS YOU HAVE TO FOLLOW'...

If it worked for you, great. But for those who could not get it to work, the above steps should help.

First try the path of least resistance, and if that fails, kick it into overdrive and engage the afterburner.
