How to care for a leather interior?

So I have been getting conflicting messages about how to care for the leather interior of a car. Some say only use a damp cloth to clean, others say you need to treat the leather to prevent cracking. So what do you guys say?

Treat it, use a sunscreen.

Exposure to, in particular, sun will eventually cause the leather to deteriorate. There are many leather-care treatments available in Makro / Builders Warehouse / and similar stores. Most of them are a white cream-based product, and claim to keep the leather supple and crack-free, while at the same time not feeling greasy. I use one such product on the interior leather / seats of my "toy" a Honda S2000 convertible. Whenever I use it the top is down and so the entire interior is exposed to sun. After 4 years the leather still looks like new. But first get all the crap (dust, sand, cigarette ash, etc) out of the seat seams where they are stitched .. use a vacuum cleaner. Then wipe down all surfaces with a clean slightly damp cloth. The apply the leather-care product as per instructions.

I use the Meguiar's leather cream. No cracks yet.

I'm pretty certain my interior is just blood and guts. AFAIK it only becomes leather after being mummified.

I use SHIELD leather care...cheap and does the same as McGuiars leather cream...had McGuiars 1st and then this cheapo(R58) and to tell the truth, couldn't see or FEEL the difference...
