What a driver and a nice split screen view of what's going on.

I'm afraid too many "boy racers" don't realise the skill involved in driving at the limit which contributes to the death toll on our roads :(

I reckon he will always be #1 in my book, even if it's just nostalgia. That split screen view that has a cam on the rev counter and another on his feet really helps.
 
Left foot braking.... piss easy as long as your intention is to lock all four wheels and **** yourself... :D

It's a bit disorienting the first few times you try it, because your left foot somehow isn't adjusted to the feel of the brake pedal as your right foot is, so you often end up braking too hard.

I taught myself to left foot brake when I was rallying, and now I do it all the time - particularly when I'm driving an automatic - just makes more sense to use both feet.
 
The OP can also try driving barefoot or with shoes that have soft thin soles, this will help with the feel.

Now I recall years ago driving barefoot was illegal in all provinces except KZN or so I was told. The AA website however states that there is no law against driving barefoot, http://www.aa.co.za/technical-servi...-say-about-driving-barefoot-or-shirtless.html

Just don't drive with slops, sandals or other open open shoes as they can snag on the pedals which can be very scary. Leave the slops for when you are a bit more experienced :D

What it isn't illegal to drive barefoot anymore? I am so jumping out barefoot if a cop ever stops me :D. Hey OP, it isn't always something you can think out. Once a person has their drivers they really start learning to drive, so keep going ^_^
 
So far I've found that quicker gear change and at higher rpm the car doesn't jerk as much.
Quick question, I see on the highway the limit is 120, but obviously the ppl in the fast lane go over that.
Has anyone ever been fined for going over 120, just want to know for future's sake?

Of course. But they have to catch them first (via speedtrap/camera/whatever). I'm surprised you're even asking that.
 
Eventually you will get to know the " sweet spot" of your clutch and shifting will get smoother

Once a month or so you'll see articles for people getting pulled over for doing 200+ kmph, especially in gauteng area.
But certain areas also have fixed cameras in 120 zones and you'll definitely get fined for going 130+
