How to check Vodacom data sim balance?

Hi, so I have been using the MyVodacom website to check my data balance for about the last year. Recently the site doesn't display anything however. It's random, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Have been using the link below which works only some of the time which is getting annoying as I can't check my balance when I need to:

Is there some problem with the website where it just doesn't work at times?

This is a data sim in a router so I can't use USSD services.

Clear Cookies and cached web pages always when a website does not work.
Upgrades are done to websites all the time.

Old links may be re-directed to new end points.
 
Hi, sorry to tag this in when OP seems happy with their responses, but:

Is there a way to check your Vodacom data use without the app? I've been going a bit insane looking for just an SMS option or something.

Context: Dad's been letting me use his WiFi SIM, his recent contract upgrade came with a "new" Huawei router with a different browser interface that does not allow me to check how much data is left as I go, it just shows how much I've used in a session.

This is old news to everyone by this point, I'm sure, but I'm just shocked by how wildly impractical it is to take away such a basic feature. I have all the passwords, all the access to the router, but I can't check how much data is left?

All the search results I keep running into focus on the app as a solution. However, I am not the owner of the number tied to the WiFi router I'm using, which is a problem as I can't seem to add the number to the Vodacom app on my phone despite Dad giving me the relevant OTP Vodacom sent to his e-mail; we just get errors.

TL;DR - Is there something other than the app I can use to check my data balance (without just putting this SIM back in the old router or an old phone)?

 
If your dad removes the number from his app, you will be able to add it to your MyVodacom app under My Products.
Or, you could simply do a dual-install of the MyVodacom app on your phone? That way you can view your sim stats as well as his, and he will still be able to view his sim stats using his own phone.

Thanks for the quick response! If the app is the only way to go after all, I'll run your suggestions by him.

I was hoping for a neat resolution like a code I could SMS, like the good old days when 'Balance' or 'MM' to 31050 would still work for my needs, but no luck. The router's browser interface does send/receive from that number still, I just don't have the right keyword it seems.

If anyone that stumbles onto this has the magic keyword/phrase please have mercy and share.

If there is a dial pad you could submit USSD commands.

Oddly enough, there's a whole entire dedicated "USSD" tab, but nowhere to manually enter codes that I can see.

It's all just a list of click-able pre-set options/commands, and of course none of them are any kind of useful to me.

This is partly why I'm admittedly more salty about all of these perceived inconveniences than I would usually be - none of this makes logical sense to me. There are too many functionalities built into the router's browser interface that look like they're supposed to be useful, but don't do anything.

I'm the angry kind of confused right now, ha. I feel like I'm missing something obvious, like I'm just not finding something that's supposed to be there.

Part of me is hoping I am just being blind/inattentive and someone will pop in to go "Oh, just go here". At this stage I really would not mind the embarrassment. I would rather just be able to do what I used to be able to do.
 
Try MDMA I think this is the name of a dashboard some forumite wrote a while back.
 
This reminds me of my MTN data card I used to use. You know the one that looks like a flat piece of cheese you push into your lappie from the side.

Has an earphone socket etc.

Problem is that the card's menu doesn't allow USSD. So the only way is no way to check balances without phoning for them....MTN stopped that a while back. The card was good for years though and served me well. I've still got it :)
