I started this thread to find out how to connect to Xbox Live using my current internet connection on my PC.

If anyone can help me, I’d be very grateful.

Simple...plug a network cable into your router and the other side into the Xbox. Sign up using the "wizard" on the Live blade and you're done.

What about using an ADSL MODEM... What cables do I buy.

Please excuse me... I'm not very clued up I was never interested until now.

maybe explain your setup a bit more. does your modem connect to your pc via usb or network cable?

If you don't have a router (external modem with more than one input) you can simply use ICS - Internet Connection Sharing - a standard windows feature. Here's the official guide on how to do it, it's easy peezy.

Just Note you'll have to create the account as US or UK, we're not a supported region yet. (You'll need a postal code from either, just google for one)

So if my MODEM has more than one port I can just plug my XBox into it and I'm good to go?

what modem do you have (make and model)? be more specific, usb ports or ethernet ports?

nope, usb modem won't work if you plug it directly into the xbox. just do at doobiwan said above and you'll be fine. or better yet, just get yourself an adsl modem router like the billion 7300 for cheap cheap and all your troubles will be gone

get it from matrix warehouse, about R600
