Hi,

So I recorded my gameplay of a certain game (3:52). When I check the recorded file, it is 3.04GB in size. I want convert this into a smaller sized file, but keeping the same video quality. The video was recorded on a resolution of 1366 x 768.

I tried converting using AVC (Any Video Converter) and the video quality was horrible.

Is there any other software I could try, or some converting settings I could try on AVC?

Thanks.

I use handbrake and one of its pre-made profiles to make an mp4 that's a lot smaller than the original. Handbrake can be simple to use or you can delve into into it myriad of settings and then it can get really complicated. I just stick to the profiles.

AVC works fine - make sure you have the latest codec pack pack (Windows 7 Codec Pack has pretty much everything), and check your conversion settings in AVC - you can customize the output instead of just choosing one of their default profile settings.

you can hardly go wrong with handbrake. i assume the windows version is the same quality as the linux version.

handbrake or virtualdub ( if your file is avi and you want to keep it avi), though i think with virtualdub you need the codecs so look for klite codec pack

Another vote for Handbrake here. That tool has saved me some serious space over the years!
