Hi Guys I'm trying to determine the exact border of our farm and cannot seem to convert an old surveyor diagram with y/x points to geographical coordinates. I tried to use the shttp://www.ngi.gov.za/index.php/technical-information/software-and-utilities/ngi-coordinate-conversion-utility utility but the coordinates I ended up was somewhere in the South pole.

It would be great if someone could convert these coordinates to geographical.

Here is the diagram and points http://imgur.com/a/DWaMs

Thanks

Unfortunately not, it's off the R536 near Hazyview Mpumalanga. Still closer than the South pole. What method did you use?

Sorry for the late reply, did you get it right?

I tried again right now but not getting close to R536, i really think something is not right on the survey sheet.
i am a civil eng and work with coordinates very often, never in SA have i seen X Coordinates with a constant of +87 50000. Its usually around +37 00000.
I see he used the Lo 31 system, have a look at the attached picture which shows durban coordinates in the gauss format, you can see the Y is 5000 and the X is +33.

in our case, the 4000 for point A, is ok and believable, but the +87 is waay off. I mentioned its usually around +37 because i am in Cape Town. So you can see the very small difference between CT and Durbs considering the distance in the X coordinates, therefore i dont believe the +8750000.
