Hi All.
I have been playing around with microtik and been able to limit users on bandwidth speed as well as time based.
What I'm trying to do is create a captive portal with user connecting to it and then allows them internet access for 1 hour or 500Mb... or which ever comes first. An example of this is at OR tambo....
I'm not sure, but all the digging I have done is to have a Radius server for authentication. ( have done this but no data cap)
I am not getting this to work after using ubuntu and installing free radius and micortik as the modem/router.
So the idea is for the user to hit the captive portal, enter their details and then will be granted "X" amount of data for a certain time.
I have also tried using a Unifi AP, but seems you need a a USG to do the radius portion.
I also do not want a voucher system.

I truly hope someone has done this before.
Will appreciate any help.
Thank you in advance!

You can do this with a Mikrotik. You can also buy hotspot templates from certain sites, with different levels of functionality.

Played around with it out of curiosity a while back.
