How to create a strong password

I really had to check if this was a resurrected thread from a decade ago.

Anyway: three random words and one character replacement, JustInCcse
More than a decade.

Many others too. Fact is that common dictionary words suck https://www.pentestpartners.com/sec...batterystaple-isnt-a-good-password-heres-why/

There a certain Win98SE cd key that is Branded on the inside of my Skull....Good luck Brute forcing that.

Side note: As much as it’s convenient to use 2FA built into a vault.. I suggest keeping them separate.. all of which is for naught if you do not secure your phone,

One thing that does bother me is this.. doe many years I’ve used my phone as gps device mounted on windscreen..

But in an accident, the phone is in an unlock state.. something I realized lately albeit all important apps require auth again to open but yah. Something to think about.. if you do not use car/android play.
Surely there must be a way to use Maps without leaving your phone bare naked?

You could always use words in different languages, I've noticed that passwords derived from words in one or more of our local languages aside from english gives "nerds and their hoodies" a tough time, so you could simply take a word, write it down in english as "red wheelbarrow" and translate it into lets say zulu and you get "ibhala elibomvu" toss in a number, an upper case letter and you've got yourself a decent password.

I still have a WinXP VLK stuck in my head. I last used it in 2013 but I used it so often that it just won't leave. Had an Office 2007 key as well but that one dispersed with time, thankfully

There's so many things that require passwords so my biggest concern is sharing a password across multiple different platforms/apps/whatever.

So simple solutions is the "thing" you are trying to sign on to @1234.

Save and secure and easy to remember.

Now I wait for my account here to get "hacked"

I prefer pass phrases.

Easy to remember, easy to change the odd e with an & or similar, not so easy to forget or hack.

Good Morn!ng Mybro@dbanD1

/goes off to test that
I used to use a similar method, but the problem with that is remembering whether I used an @ or an ! Etc for the gazillion passwords one needs nowadays. 1password solved all these problems, so much so that I honestly have no idea what any of my passwords are (except banking, which is a phrase)

So you only use one password?
Oh no, I have multiple. Diablo II cd key, Starcraft 1, Half-Life 1 Got a whole hand full of Digikeys, But in the end it all means buggerall. I still got hacked by Chinese Lowlifes. See the problem is no matter how good the Password. They have Keyloggers. I tried many different Anti virus packages. None of them detected the Keylogger in a verified WOW addon.

I create all my strong passwords by creating weak ones and then shaming them into 'bro, do you even lift?'

Probably the most important thing omitted from that article is to use a different password per site.
Your biggest risk is using a common password on a site with weak secuirty.
