I agree. IMHO a bad Manager is the #1 reason people leave a position followed by work life balance so this is spot on.
So check the managers of all my offers? Not much to say at this point....
Met all of them very briefly, all white guys, in their 30-40's
Seem competent, but this can be a hit and miss.....

True, not easy if you can't get a good feel for the culture. Trust your instincts.

Instincts, well all of them were late to the meeting with me initially, one I waited 20 min and one almost 30 min

So don't know?
They could have been testing your reaction/temperament so I wouldn't judge based on that. If you can't judge which one feels better see if you can tell which one give you less anxiety, that is your instinct talking.

When you really can't decide, calculate what you are paid (TCC) for time away from home. Including time spent in traffic and deducting the leave days you get.

Someone also told me to try and be the guy that makes the company money, instead of the guy that costs the company money. In terms of software, it means working for a software company who makes money from your time instead of in the IT dept of a big corporate who all secretly hate pumping all that money into the software that is never delivered soon enough and always costs more than they want to pay.
