How to fix Interleaving on VDSL?

If you're basing it on this post you made: https://mybroadband.co.za/forum/threads/vumatel-fibre-ip-assignment.932711/
That's your ISP messing up or you're using the wrong DNS server.

Besides being banned for e.g. game servers, don't really see a need. Maybe tracking protection?

Quite a lot has changed since I made that post, but the second part of your post in a nutshell is basically it.

Not a fan of targeted advertising and skewed Google search results as far as tacking goes, but I could probably find a way to live with it.

Not specifically game servers, but signing up for multiple accounts where only one account is allowed doesn't work if you have a fixed IP, or even through a VPN.

But yes, getting banned and being stuck with the same IP complicates things.

I wonder if interleaving on VDSL is the reason I can't watch Twitch streams at 1080p because I'm limited to 6000kbps per stream.

I can watch 4 or more 720p Twitch streams simultaneously with no issue.

Makes me suspect that interleaved VDSL establishes multiple connections in order to attain the full speed.

Fine if you're downloading non-realtime stuff, but no good realtime stuff like HD livestreams.
Who is your ISP?

@DYreX146 How did you contact them on twitter? The TelkomZA or through their usual support groups? Because honestly the basic twitter support one looks like its only for the current logged tickets and stuff.

I just DM'd TelkomZA but Telkom was also my ISP at the time, so I don't know if you would have to contact someone else if your ISP is anyone other than Telkom.

I'm on VDSL right now, so currently, Vox, Afrihost, Axxess and Webafrica. :)

But my 2 primary ISPs are Vox and Afrihost.
o ok,, i have a 20 meg premium plus account with Axxess running on VDSL, i have no problem what so ever with twitch

I think I'm just unlucky. I've tried different routers, different devices, different ISPs, can't break 6000kbps on Twitch.

Using Alternate Player for Twitch works, but it adds another 6 or so second delay to the stream.

yeah that addon gives you more than one thread to download the stream., instead of using the normal single thread. You might have some packet loss, or some kind of line fault. We lucky few of VDSL should not really have line issues, but people on certain fiber networks have the same problem or sometimes worse. It usually comes down to packet loss. i would guess, in your case, it would be last mile since you have tried various other ISP's with different networks.

Oddly enough, no packet loss that I'm aware of, at least not as far as my router stats are concerned.

On a single threaded speed test I can attain close to 20Mb.

That said, I don't think the issue is isolated to Twitch. I think I have the same issue on Mixer too.

Single threaded to where?

The third technician that says "We are going to fix it" and never gets around to it. Twitter support isn't responding and honestly, I'm getting zero progress. How can this be so hard to resolve.
