For some or other reason, windows 8.1 has introduced a bunch of mouse input lag in to games that don’t use raw input.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat are apparently “close to unplayable” thanks to this new flaw. Call of Duty games and Metro 2033, likewise, aren’t as snappy as they should be. there’s a fix that helps, but doesn’t quite solve the problem:

Right click the EXE of the game in question.
Go to properties
Go to the compatibility tab
Check “run this program in compatibility mode for” and select “Windows 8.”
Check “disable scaling on high DPI settings.”
Check “run this program as an administrator.”

This has tended to solve a lot of game and mouse issues, but not all games are solved with this route

Enjoy :)

Genetic, that is possible but some of the games, like i listed do have input lag... also i found that windows 8.1 sometimes does not allow to to alter your DPI settings on the fly (with gaming mice that have DPI macro's) so this can somewhat help.

A friend of mine had input lag from his Wireless KB and Mouse, after much investigating, he discovered it was his USB 3 drivers.

I have a wired setup, with Windows 8.1, and I've never experienced any lag.

@mr_norris
i had that problem with a previous mouse but i did not know it was a driver issue and wanted a new mouse xD ... got the RAT 7 and had the problem where i had a lot of input lag on BF4 (obviously coz game is so broken) and then had the same problem with STALKER and this fixed it for me :)
