Just updated my apps and noticed when trying a Google voice search via the Google search widget(or via a Nova voice search action) all voice searches now go via the Google assistant. To get access to the Google search results you know have to wait for the assistant search result and then press the "Google search" button below the assistant results to get the vanilla Google search results.
Fark, really Google, this never ending battle, if it's not Microsoft today its Google "updating" and removing core functionality without user choice or opt in.
All I really want is a way to press an icon on the home screen to instantly open a Google voice search and then show me the results, is that still possible?
