How to get Daiblo 2 working on Win7 64bit?

I feel like playing D2 again since the 3rd one is around the corner what a dam long corner it is:cry:.But last time I tried installing D2 on windows 7 64bit it didn't want to work is there some patch or something you need?

I tried running it under windows xp compatibility but nothing happens. it just doesn't run:erm:
I really want to play :twisted:

Maybe you can try running it in Dosbox or a Windows XP VM?

Runs perfectly well in Linux Mint 12, I just installed it on Sunday.
Always knew there would come a day that Linux would do Windows better than, well Windows :)

Remember to run D2VidTst and maybe try other options .
 
I put it on a cheapo laptop running windows 7.. I think it was 64 bit. Worked fine.
 
I'll try it again when I get home from work. Hopefully I get it working if i do I know what am going to be doing this weekend :whistle:

Dont forget to get the latest patch or the last one that was released :p
If you playing alone set it to player8 and watch the levels fly by

Got the latest patch. Forgot about the players 8 command thanks for reminding me.;) does it work in mutliplayer aswell? My friend might join me. Can't wait to get home from work and jam:p

This is typical in windows 7.
Check "Disable visual themes" and "Disable desktop composition" in compatibility settings.
@Pe-Killer you might want to try the same as the game might actually be working but just taking a long time to start

Yes it does
more mobs = more loot = more alt clicking spams :D
oh Diablo how I have missed you :p

I didn't notice anything when I was palying last night,but I'll have look tonight.
 
Download patch 1.13c and not the d version as when you defeat Baal you can reset all you skill points when you start on nightmare level at alara the witch.

And no problems when to load on 64 bit windows 7.
