Hi All
Looking for some advice here..

So our complex (in Centurion/Monavoni) has been excluded from OpenServe/Telkom future fibre "rollout", but they cannot give me an explanation why so..
So i have conducted a "fibre interest survey" within the complex, (its a small complex with only 48 units) and just over 20% of all residents are keen thus far..
Ive asked Metro Fibre, but they will only have presence in our area in 2018...Obviously Openserve is not interested as they dont even reply to my emails...:(

Which fibre providers can i approach next to install fibre in our complex?

Your assistance will be greatly appreciated...

You can try Lightspeed as well (Cybersmart). For my area they can do it but wont because I am in a residential house and thus need a certain amount of people before they will do it. However for complexes they do it more easily. At least we are on Openserve's planned list even though DFA fiber runs by close by. Thus check availability of fiber on DFA close to your complex or other provider

I had the same problem. Phoned Openserve directly and was very shortly thereafter contacted by 2 reps who were very eager to assist. Will PM their details to you.

That said though, I am still waiting for them to come back to me regarding timelines. Said they would first have to do the budgets for the rollout to our complex and then assign a contractor.

Hi,

I'm busy with trying to arrange fibre for my complex and so far I had several offers from, STsolutions(SADV), greencom (metrofibre), Netstream and Fibrehoods. Greencom and Fibrehoods have a separate sales team for complexs/estates.

PM if you need the emails.

I realise you've already gone some way down the OpenServe route, but have your tried the channels/approach listed here and here ?

Is it a MDU (Multi-dwelling-complex) or sectional title? If so.. Most infrastructure companies (Telkom, OpenServe, Vuma, TTConnect) ned a wayleave signed by the body corporate.

But its iffy, coz, as per body corporate law, fibre, like dsl is a "luxury" item.. hence, you could get it installed if your on the street.. Unlike when walls or roofing "non-luxury".

Most last mile installers prefer to install "nodes" in MDU's, so they need body corporate permission, hence the wayleave.

Hope That Helps..
