Hi
I run my own business from home and rely on "email forwarding" to my iburst email and sending via iburst smpt, which has over the past months become a complete mess, with too many client emails sent to me bouncing, or arriving days later, and email that i send doing the same thing. it makes me look extremely unprofessional.

Anyway, i remember someone saying that gmail was the answer to replace the iburst mail smtp/pop3 issue.

Does anyone know how i go about finding 2 gmail invites / addresses to solve my email problems?

thanks
scud

As has been said often enough, Gmail is excellent and free.

However, outside USA, you have to get an 'invitation' from an existing Gmail user to sign up. When you sign up, you then get 100 free invitations to dish out.

Thanks

Thanks for all the offers. Telkomisaloser has very kindly sorted me out with 2 accounts.

scud I read somewhere that you can use your gmail account with different domains... so your email could be [email protected] and that actually gets routed into Gmail...

Maybe look into that to make your emails look more professional.

Oh and if anyone wants invites I have tons :)

yep, iv'e set it up gmail to be totally transparent, all my mail gets routed too and from gmail showing my own domain name(s) , even when sent via gmail web interface.

iburst smtp & pop is now out of the loop and gone for good :)

Zigactly. Easy to setup, too.

heh and I think scud also got quite a few gmail invites as well

yup! Telkomisaloser sent me 2 accounts/invites which is all i needed, and it appears that gmail now allows me to invite 50 people per account.
so if anyone else needs invites i'd be happy to help out :)

It is easy to set up within gmail. How about if one wants to keep Outlook on your desktop or server and fetch mails from gmail? Lets say I have company1, company2 and company3 all with pseudo gmail addresses. Do I need 3 accounts in Outlook (for sending mail) as if from the respective company1,2 or 3? What will their smtp settings be?

Hope that is clear. I couldn't find a simpler way.

But isn't iBurst blocking other SMTP servers?

it's very easy, !
here is a quick gmail video of how to do it via outlook 2003 - it shows you all the necessary smpt settings. http://mail.google.com/mail/help/demos/Gmail_POP/788_Google_Gmail.html

for other clients click here http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?ctx=gmail&hl=en&answer=12103

additionally you may configure each gmail account to make your outlook emails appear to come from eg "[email protected]" , by changing your default account gmail prefs online.
