How to get over the addiction!

I used to be addicted to life, getting up in the morning, working, having friends to talk with about things that I wasn't interested in. See expensive movies, eating expensive food - then I took up WoW and things are quiet, no irritating conversations, I don't waste my money on things, I don't get stuck in peaktime traffic - yeah! thanks Blizzard, I'm doing great! :p

Get up at 5am, goto gym, go home, bathroom routine, goto work / school etc. / go home, do homework / chores, have dinner, watch Tv, goto bed.

Rinse / repeat

or ...

Play WoW!:D
 
The biggest WoW killer for me was starting a new character. Man, I forgot how painful it was walking around (as opposed to riding)

True, but the new server we are on is awesome. Never met so many SA players online before and they are all friendly. Really made the switch from US to EU worthwhile.

And the moment u have an Afrikaans name all the Saffers speak to you where ever u are. I really like TWH server. But my main is on Burning Blade, and have allot of friends on there also. Damn it makes playing WoW hard.
 
Nah the only thing is will power. If i say Im logging at 10pm Im logging at 10pm.
Even if i only have time to scan the AH.
 
heh I decided to take a 2 month break from wow... Going to reactivate my account in about 5 days! CANT WAIT!! :D
 
I have been playing for about 3 years.. I started in the UK when one of my mate showed me the game and we had a whole team at the office playing together. My problem is that I like starting new car. So I have almost played every race available. I just lvled up a rogue and to 31 and now I have lvled up a hunter. My main is a warrior and then I have 8 others all in between 20-40. Its really bad but loving it.
 
I'm so over WoW.
I started playing back in Jan or Feb 2005 (2months after release).
I've done almost everything there is to do in the game, raided, pvp'd, farmed, got the epics, the tiered armor sets, downed the bosses, started guilds etc.

But what do you have to show for yourself after 60days worth of playing your multiple lvl 70s?
Epic armor??
A dragaon flying mount?!
20,000g in the bank?

Nah, get a girlfriend.
Spend time with your kids/friends.
Do something that will matter in 2 years time.
 
What do I have after 3 years of WoW? Well some decent friends atleast, I am flying over to the Nehterlands again in some weeks to meet up with them.

I quite often take a month or two break from WoW but always return. I like the social aspect of the game and really enjoy meeting new people, or helping out friends. Maybe I am just fortunate to be in a multi game guild where we have people playing several games and know each other quite well.
 
Both you guys are right IMHO dont over do it is the secret. You can still enjoy WOW just dont let it take over your life.
 
sooner or later youll get really bored with it,I was on wow 24/7 i even left my previous job so i could have some gametime for wow and raids.

My addiction only came with the old wow not this new TBC crap,Personally the expansion killed my love and addiction for the game.

I think WOW can be borring on lvl 70.

I'll play wow till I have made all classes to lvl 70.
If then there was no other expantion pack to lets say lvl 80

I'll be done with WoW.
 
WoW aint boring at 70 :D it was terribly boring at 60! Strat-strat-start,UBRS-UBRS-UBRS,MC-MC-BWL-BWL-BWL-AQ40-NAX-NAX-NAX, and the ever farming for gold to support your raiding :P Nax would cost about 50-70g per evening and it took you 2-3 hours to farm that ammount. AQ20 book farming anyone? or AD-rep grinding.

Nah 70 is a lot better, there is plenty of factions with good rewards to grind, and grinding is considerably faster. Heroic instances keep end game instancing a chalenge asp if you try and PUG some of these :p
Raiding scene have changed a bit, and I wont lie and say I dont miss the 40 man stuff, those were really epic battles, and fun... 25 man contend is however not too bad and it is possible to build a stronger team faster and gear up quite a bit faster so that you can move to a new raid zone. Karazhan is boring as hell after several months, but I am gearing my second char with T4 armour now, and still having fun.
