How to get this setup to work (got an old plasma system)?

Need some advice from the guru's here, cos I have no clue where to begin. To start, lemme give some details. Downstairs we have our PVR, FullHD LCD, Home theatre system etc. We have a cable running upstairs to get DSTV to our old CRT TV.

My father inlaw recently upgraded his tv system. I was going to get a LCD upstairs to replace our old CRT TV, but we have been given the following and not sure how to make it work and set up upstairs:

1. Pioneer Plasma Display System (Media Receiver PDP-R04G)
2. Pioneer Plasma Display screen (PDP-434PG)

I have also attached images.

The issue is the Plasma TV can only be mounted to a wall. Thats fine because we have brackets in place already, but as you can see by the images...the TV has no coax connection. Just a place for the "black" and "white" connectors and a power input. Thats it. So to get the system working, it needs to be connected to the display system, and then the coax to the display system.

So now how do I go about this? The TV will be mounted to the wall, but I cant exactly mount the receiver to the wall too? There is no cupboard or anything below the TV (when it will be on the wall) so I cant hide the receiver either? Added....the TV has no speakers...so need to connect speakers too. Looks like it will be a sloppy mess even if I get it working...

It seems like I wont be able to use this system. Its a nice big TV and wanted to try get it working...seems like a waste.

Any recommendations...besides putting the receiver on the roof :wtf: Maybe I should just tell him thanks but its not gonna work and get a new LED tv?

Hmmm looks like you will have to mount some sort of cabinet to the wall to hide the control unit and fit a pair of PC speakers.
Alternatively flog it and buy a TV that you want .

I have a simliar setup in my upstairs room. I just put the media player in a small cabinet and used some 40 x 25mm trunking to conceal the cables. The plasma is not a TV, so has no tuner so it is either a HDMI connector, component video or composite video with stereo audio for component and composite. Then you need some external speakers, column ones look the best.

btw: To add pics to post, click on the Insert Image icon (3rd from right), choose the file from your PC and upload it

Thanks for replies guys. Didnt want to have to buy a extra cabinet just to hide the receiver. Dammit. Let me think about it.

@chrisc4290, I tried but it added the pics as normal size. I had hoped they would add them as thumbs, but it didnt work. Ah well.
