How to check data bundle balance on a sim that I don't have access to?

Hi guys.

Not too sure if this is posted in the right place but here goes..

So I have several sim cards that I own, but which are not in my possession. They are mainly used for data transfer.
These sim cards constantly move around and thus it's not practical for me to go to each one and check their balances or top up their balances manually.

Is there anyway that I can check their current balances online? Data balance, airtime balance, etc. And also load on new data bundles or airtime?

The sims are primarily normal prepaid network sims. Mainly Vodacom and MTN. Do you guys know if they offer a service as the one I stated above?

Edit: I've changed the thread name to something more suitable. I'm more interested in checking the balances of the sims I don

Don't know about MTN, but for Vodacom you can register a single profile with a number of SIM's linked to it. You probably need to register when you have the SIM in question with you in a handset, as there is a challenge/response to complete the registration. After that you can deploy the SIM in your device and manage it remotely.

Or maybe they have a better method for managing multiple SIM's

I've been asking about this for years. So many of us have SIM cards in alarm systems, security cameras etc in inaccessible places but nooooooo there isn't a USSD code to check balances.

Change to FNB. Apparently you can access your sim cards like access your bank accounts... or so the ad says.

I know with Capitec Bank you can purchase airtime for any SP sim and for any number. Only problem is you need to convert it to data.

Am I misunderstanding the question ?
I have an E5330 and check the balance on the VC website . I then can top up anything to that number from my FNB account.

With more than one SIM Smartload would be an effective option. It effectively makes you an airtime dealer!

You can use the facility via USSD or better still via iOS or Android application.

http://www.smartcall.co.za/index.php/all-categories/identity-design

Not only do you buy at between 3.5% and 8% discount, you can also buy airtime/data/all-in-one bundles for any network in SA plus a few outside of SA.

I have used Smartload as a backup system for over six years now...

A LOT cheaper than letting the banks keep the between 3.5% - 8% commission and also being charged an R7 to R10 for the benefit of using their overpriced system.

Never put my sim into any device. Straight into the modem and off.

I'm with FNB, and as far as I know you can only top up a phone number, not check the actual balance

I have like 50 sim cards whose balances I need to check, do they list them all on the Vodacom website or do you have to create a separate account for each one? If it show the balances for each sim under one account then this would be perfect.

It could be that you need to port to FNB. The radio ad is a very tonue-in-cheek ad. A call centre person asks a client if she's renewing her contract and client runs thru the reasons why she is going with FNB. I'm not with FNB so i don't know what they offer.
I just keep hearing the as on radio.
