My car needs to go in for a small oil leak. The company had to take the head off. They forgot to replace the bottom engine cover, the metal one under the engine. To open covers on top is a big job. I am afraid they are going to simply fit the cover and tell me they did take covers off on top and fix the leak. I know appliance repair people sometimes label the inside part with a invisible pen. Like drop paint on a bolt or nut. Any ideas.

I am really lost here, anyone?

I speak confused:cool:

so let me translate.

car went in to service where the sump was removed,
something wasn't replaced, something is broken now,

now trying to prove liability on what happened by referring to UV paint if such things are even used.

That's much better, I suspected he is talking about the sump, was just weighing up the probability of someone fixing a car and forgetting to put the sump back, I am a hopeless amateur but I would never forget the whole sump lying on the floor and drive away.

youd be surprised, some mechanics (dealerships) are worse than amateurs and leave entire important parts on their workshop floors.
that's what seems to have happened here, @upup is trying to prove liability by referring to hidden markings.

Yeah...... Mmmm ...... Buy a white permanent marker. Make your own "markings". Just a dot will do. Take a pic so you remember where you marked it.

They forgot to place this cover. While car were standing at home, I realize oil drops on the floor. So my problem very simply is, if I ask the dealer to look for the oil leak and fix it, he can take a chance of putting the cover back and I will not notice any oil leak, the oil will drip onto the cover. On the top of the engine is lots of things that need to be removed to find any possible small leak.

So my aim is to place a marking somewhere to see if they did in fact look for a leak there somewhere.
Hope you understand.

take a whiteboard marker and draw little lines on the side of the bolts, you should see if it was removed by the lines being "damaged"

or sticky tape a note underneath saying, "yes you p**s, take this off and do your f**k*en job"
