how to pull data from a SQL DB into a sharepoint list (continuously)

I want to pull data that is always changing from a DB into Sharepoint. i have read that you need either an enterprise edition of sharepoint or using somthing called SSIS. whats the best way to go about doing this?

Do you need it to actively update the sharepoint display AS someone is look at it.. or just refresh everytime someone loads the page?

see we want to pull data from our client list which is store in a SQL Database using another applicaion and clients get added and edited pretty much all the time there

Well then a simple data grid type setup should do the job if you ask me..

I'm pretty sure you can find a webpart for Sharepoint that will let you setup a simple data grid can't you?
