I bought some steak from a restaurant last night, but couldn't eat due to a small emergency a friend was experiencing. So I asked the waitress to pack it in a doggy bag for me.

Do I just throw the thing in the microwave? I don't really have a choice since I'm at the office and a microwave is my only option :D

no dont throw it in the micro

rather take it out and let it get to room temp

i normally get a pan very hot and heat it on there

does get cooked more from med rare to more medium so ya

Well short of going outside with a magnifying glass, a microwave is your only option. Generally though if given the choice, I'll reheat it in a pan and maybe make a small pan sauce while I'm at it...

You don't.
You put it on a roll with some mustard.
Or slice it up and give a quick fry in a pan & then put onto the roll with mustard.

Edit: Ok, well...lightly butter the inside of the roll and put that inside part of the roll flat on the pan once your steak is heated so the roll crisps up and absorbs that tasty fat. Then put your sliced up steak on the roll with mustard.

Eh? How to reheat steak, but my only option is to nuke it, suggestions welcome, only have one option. lol that was a well thought out plan if you ask me.

I wouldn't nuke it, it will actually cook it more, generally best to throw in back in a super heated pan for a 1 minute a side.
That way you only warm it and not cook it again.

It was something I'm curious about. Right now, I had to use the microwave, but for next time I might be at home

F**k that sounds lekker!

If it was cooked rare enough to begin with, then heating it in the microwave should still not overcook it.

What I like to do with left over steak, since I like it medium rare, is to cut it into super thin slices, and marinate it with some 5 spice, chilies, corn flour and soya sauce for 30 minutes, make some fresh egg noodles with the pasta machine, and whip up a beef chow mein, the beef literally melts in your mouth, the secret being the super thin cuts.

I don't mind flash frying it again just on a very high heat for a minute each side, enough to heat it throughout. But then slice it very thinly when you serve so it's extra soft.

Cook some onions and peppers in the microwave, thinly slice the steak into strips, melt some cheese over it and load it into a french stick or other roll.

Cheesesteak sandwich ftw
