To be honest, it is SUPPOSED to work yes. BUT it can backfire at times, ASK ME. I did it about 6 months ago, and all went perfectly, then about a month ago I did it for a friend, well, lets just say, MOST of his stuff was gone afterward, SOME were still there. The some, we did not need! LOL
I've done many successful repair installs. The only times I've had hassles have been when there was something *seriously* wrong with Windows before doing the repair install (registry screwed), or sometimes after moving the drive or data to another machine.
Ok, thanks for the info. The reason I want to do it this way is that I have no way of backing up most of my stuff on such short notice and have Windows XP in Hebrew and have to reinstall in order to get the OS in English. I will cross my fingers and hold my thumbs and just hope for the best.
