So today I got home played Geometry wars for about 5mins and my xbox froze so I turned it off and back on again and now I get just one big red circle flashing. I bought my xbox in September at Musica but went their yesterday to see what new games they got and the spesific Musica dont have anything xbox related in stock anymore except 1 gow game.

You need to phone M$ to get a reference number, then contact MI Digital to get a credit reference number, and then you can go to the store you bought the XBOX from for a swap out. You need regional proof of purchace and the XBOX serial number. Mine took a day of phoning, faxing and they swapped it for a new one at IC

Thanks rabbiddog I just got my ref number from MS but how do I contact MI Digital? According to the person from MS I spoke to they told me I can just take the ref number to the retailer and it will be replaced.

Depending on the retailer that will work. IC said it would take a week to swap out as they did not know about the swap out. MI Digital are the distributors of XBOX in SA (011 723 1960), they gave me a reference that made IC do the swap.

Edit: I only swapped the XBOX. Not the HDD or cables.

What is the number for MS ? I also need to swap my machine since it scratches my discs.

Well it's a very irritating problem..i waste R500+ rand every time i buy a game cause it gets f***** up !

Give them a call and find out. Maybe now that they admitted to the flaw they will replace those consoles.

You haven’t by any change moved the console while it was on, have you?
