Hi all, as the title says, I need to reset my DSTV. Problem is I don't have physical access to the decoder as it is provided by my landlord (analogue feed with IR receiver for the remote) and they are not available this weekend (I stay on a farm). There were a few powercuts this afternoon and the generator kicked in and this happened about 5 times throughout the day. The last time the power came back on the decoder froze on channel 104. The image is frozen (the time still says 15:40) and I get no response by pressing any of the remote buttons.

I am starting to get super bored, my cell c data is running out, I am sick and there is not much to do on the farm :( Anyone have any ideas please???

not quite sure of your situation but you can hit menu then 1 then 3 (if i remember correctly) to reset dstv decoder via remote

Go switch off your landlords power from the outside switch and switch it back on, that should reboot the decoder.

Where's the main power board, you can trip the main switch from there.

For NZ, I'm not sure about SA look along the outside of the main house. There should be a metal box outside screwed to the wall. Open that box up, should be a latch or something. There should be a main switch in there, switch it off and on again. That will cut off power to the house, and switch it on again. It overrides the main switches in the house. Your dstv should be solved.
