Ok so this is a long shot, but a few years back a friend of mine convinced me to try GPU mining on some new cryptocurrency.

I do not recall the name exactly, but I have an idea.

I gave up after a month or so thinking it was wasting my time.

After I recently bought some bitcoin and started looking more into investing in altcoins as well, I came across my old wallet file saved on a backup drive.

1) Is there any way to check what is in this wallet?
2) Is there any way to restore it?
3) Can cryptos die out? It may have done so

It may be worth nothing but I would like to know if there si anything of value there.

Any help in the above would be appreciated

Without giving any info inside the file, tell us as much about it as you can (name, extension, creation date)

Is it as simple as finding the right wallet and just replacing the wallet.dat file?
