How to set up fax on Windows 7?

A colleague has normal broadband internet at her home.

Does Windows 7 have built in fucntionality or do I need to install 3d party software?

If your Windows 7 version supports it you can install "Windows Fax and Scan" built into the upper versions of Win 7.
