Hi all
I want to install a wifi AP at our new office to give the staff internet access for their personal devices, this will be a perc and not at all needed to perform their daily work.
I want to put some sort of limitations in place so that things don't get out of hand, either to limit the amount of data each device can use per day, per week or whatever, or to limit the overall internet bandwidth of the wifi AP.
Overall bandwidth limiting of a specific wifi AP is easy, I can even do this on my TP-Link Archer D7, but I think limiting data use per device for a specific time period will work out better. If simply limiting the overall bandwidth, a single user will still be able to hog the internet all day long and spoil the experience for everybody else by taking up all the bandwidth, where if I'm able to limit data usage per device, each person will be more careful on what and how they use their allocation of data. This is for around 30 users, though all users isn't on site each and every day.
Do I need some special software for this, or does some routers and wifi AP's have features like these built in?
As mentioned my TP-Link Archer D7 at home can do the bandwidth limiting thing so if only going for this option I'll probably get a TP-Link Archer C7 or something, but I also looked at Ubiquiti UniFi AP's, so if the UniFi has the functionality to limit device data usage it will be great.
