Hi Guys,

I have setup an account with DynDNS.org and then logged into my modem to add my IP address the the Dynamic DNS option but I see no options for this anywhere.

I have now started hunting down a firmware update for the modem and have found a number of solutions. All of which are a little daunting as I have never done a firmware update on a modem and cannot afford to be without my ADSL connection for work.

So, I would like to know if someone has setup a Dlink300T on DynDNS without having to update the firmware and if I need to do an update, how do I go about this and where can I find the latest firmware. (I've seen a lot of posts but cannot find one particular site which gives me the most recent update)

Much appreciated!
James

I suggest that you get a client that you can run from a PC to update the DynDNS for now. You can get the update client from http://www.dyndns.com/support/clients/

Usually firmware upgrades are straight forward. There are a few things to remember when doing it:
1) Ensure that you are upgrading the firmware for the correct brand, model & revision
2) Ensure that you don't loose power/connectivity to the router/device while upgrading firmware
3) Ensure that you have all the username, passwords and other relevant settings saved or written down

might I suggest that your first check the modem software is compatable then register with dyndns. Once you have registead put the username domain name into the modem also are you waning to use remote desktop if so check my site out www.remote-help-me-out.com/ and that should explain the rest
